How to make pizza/pasta sauce at home

It is very easy to make pizza/pasta sauce at home.Even though pizza or pasta sauce is readily available in every departmental  store nothing can beat a freshly prepared  pizza/pasta sauce it tastes much better than the sauce available in bottles.Besides being used in pizza making you can use this sauce in preparing pasta as well.This sauce can be prepared in bulk and stored in the freezer for 2 to 3 months.It can be frozen in ice cube trays,  stored in an air tight container and used as and when required.

Makes for: 4 to 5 pizzas.

Ingredients:
•7 to 8 medium size ripe tomatoes.
•3 to 4 tbsp tomato ketchup.
•Salt to taste.
•¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper.
•¼ tsp dried mixed herbs (available at the stores) or you can use any fresh herbs which are easily available.
•1 small onion diced fine.
•3 to 4 garlic cloves diced fine.
•1 tsp cornflour mixed with 1 tbsp water.
•2 tbsp olive oil.

Method:
•In a blender puree the tomatoes and keep aside in a bowl.
•Heat olive oil in a pan on medium heat,fry diced garlic till golden,add onions stir and fry till golden.
•Now add in pureed tomatoes keep stirring and cooking till the sauce becomes thick and can be easily spread on a pizza base,lower the heat.
•Now add all the rest of the ingredients together except cornflour paste stir well.
•When every thing is mixed well add the cornflour paste and check the consistency it should be like a thick chutney.
•Check the seasoning.
•Pizza/pasta sauce is ready for use.
Note: This sauce can also be used to make pasta,you can just toss in boiled pasta,veggies and grated cheese in this sauce, your pasta is ready.
