Coconut chutney

Coconut chutney  

A very famous chutney from Southern part of India.No South Indian thali is complete without a coconut chutney.In the South this chutney is made in every household. It can be served with any snack.
Makes 1 ½ cups

•¼ cup roasted chana dal (dalia).
•    ¼ cup roasted deskinned peanuts.
•    2 green chillies.
•    1 cup grated coconut.
•    2 tbsp chopped corriander leaves.
•    1 tbsp curd.
•    Salt to taste.
•    1 tbsp oil.
•    ½ tsp mustard seeds.
•     Few curry leaves.

•    In a grinder grind together chana dal,peanuts,green chillies, coconut,corriander leaves,curd and salt to taste.
                Make a thick paste, add 2 to 3 tbsp water to ease the blending process. Transfer chutney to a serving bowl.
•    Heat oil in a pan crackle mustard seeds,add curry leaves, cook for a second and pour the tempering over the chutney and serve.
